Test Riding & Position Exercises
These training sessions are a little different as they are focussed on improving your test riding skills like accuracy and preparation as well as your position.
Each exercise takes a specific part of a test or positional issue and helps you improve it with the sole focus being on improving your scores. If this is a common problem you have, there are also training tips to help you too.
Test your transitions!
This is a great exercise to test your preparation and accuracy with your transitions
Circles (20m + 15m)
This is an exercise to help improve your accuracy on 20m and 15m circles
Centre Line Straightness
This is an important exercise as the centre line is the first impression your judge has of you and your horse.
Using no stirrups to build your awareness
This is a great exercise you can do to build your awareness of the things you need to work on in your position.
Creating still hands
This is a fantastic exercise if you find your hands move around a lot or if you feel your reins slip through your fingers or you struggle to maintain a contact.
Straight + Square Halts
This exercise is all about getting those halts square and straight. We start off by using the wall then move slowly away from it.
Accurate Transitions
Transitions make up many marks in a dressage test, This exercise is all about focussing on accurate, good quality upward and downward transitions
Centre line: accurate turns
This is an exercise to help you improve your turn onto the centre line.
